There are splendid churches built by Pope Paschal I, old icons of the Virgin, many chapels and shrines of saints and a lot of faithful from all over the world. This paper looks on recent exhibitions at Rome and well-educated guide books at first. Important colloquiums on Medieval Rome were held around the year 2000 and we can grasp trends and interest on this field. We find a lot of important studies on holy beings, especially icons and saints relics.
