In this study, an important air environment, a local circulation system, is analyzed. The day when the inner product between the wind vector of 15 o'clock and that of 03 o'clock becomes negative is defined as "Wind direction reversing day". WINDAS and MSM data of recent 2 or 3 years are used to extract the days. First of all, the distribution of appearance rate of wind direction reversing days in the Japanese Islands and Eastern Asia are clarified. Next, the seasonal changes of their appearance rate in the case region are analyzed. Also the surface wind system and the atmospheric pressure distribution of the case day are analyzed. Then, the results are compared with the former studies on local circulatory system. Following from the comparisons are; 1) the appearance rate of wind direction reversing day is higher in the inland than in the coastal area, and is especially high at plains near the mountain foot and mountain slope. The rate rising in these regions corresponds to the local circulation, like the mountain and valley wind, at individual basin. And it also corresponds to the wide area circulation that occurs in the entire region with the mountainous district and a lot of basins and valleys in it, like the one around a thermal low that develops in the inland. In addition, it may correspond to the diurnal circulation between the Japanese Islands and those surrounding seas. 2)Besides the Chubu region, northern part of Korean peninsula and Taiwan are also typical regions where a local circulation system develops. However, there is a difference in the main scale among the circulations that develop in each region. In Taiwan, smaller circulations develop around Taiwanese mountain range where many basins and valleys come together.
