The popularity of illuminated manuscript is smaller than other medieval art works(mosaic, wall painting, sculpture, stained glass, architecture)in Japan. However there are a few illuminated manuscripts and fly leaves in Japanese collection. The images of illuminated manuscript remind us of something medieval or western. This paper looks into a history of studies on illuminated manuscripts in Japan from 1960s to present. Firstly we show how manuscript illumination is commented in art series from 1960s to 90s. Secondly we follow papers and articles on manuscript illumination in "Bijutu-shi", the journal of the Japan Art History Society and so on. Thirdly we present scholarly works on manuscript illumination and facsimile publication in Japan., Article, 富山大学人間発達科学部紀要, 5巻1号, Page 151-160}, pages = {151--160}, title = {日本における西洋中世写本挿絵研究の歩み}, volume = {5}, year = {2010} }
