該当する行動を示す子どもと富山型デイサービス職員のコミュニケーションの現状についてアンケート調査を実施した。対象は， 栗林・阿部（2010）の調査において， 職員から特に対応に困る行動があるとされた障害のある子ども37名と， 回答した富山県内の富山型デイサービス事業所24か所の職員35名である。調査の結果， 対象児らのコミュニケーション手段については， 音声言語以外の手段のみを用いている者が30％， また， 音声言語以外の手段が主たるコミュニケーション手段である者が約４割であった。これに対し， 職員が対象児らに最も使用するコミュニケーション手段については音声言語が54％を占め， 子どもの実態と合わないコミュニケーション手段を使用している現状が明らかになった。このことから， 職員と対象児らとのコミュニケーションが成立するための具体的な支援方法を検討することが， 富山型デイサービスにおける問題行動の低減につながることが示唆された。さらに， 多様な専門性を持つ職員が交代で不定期に障害のある子どもに対応している勤務状況から， 支援の実践にあたっては，
