order to investigate the effects of various factors on serrated yield, tensile tests were performed on A-l-0.5--70wt%Mg alloys.\nThree type of serrated yield named Type A, B and C were distingu ished.\nThe values of actviation energy for Type A serrated yield were found to be 0.24--0.33 eV, which were independent on grain size.\nType B serrated yield was appeared at middile temperatures, and Type C serrated yield at higher temperatures.\nThe mechanism for onset of both B and C Type serrated yield were explained qualitatviely as the propergation of luders band due to stress concentration at grain
