The strengthening of this mold has been considered probably to depend upon the chemical reaction between sodium silicate and dicalcium silicate, and the removal of the water from the sodium silicate solution retaining in molding sand without undergoing the selt-hardening reaction. Therefore, it is expected that the characteristics of this mold will be influenced by varying the temperature and humididy.
