The heat source suddenly generates at a starting point and rotates around about the circular hole at a constant angular velocity. The transient temperature distribution is obtained by making use of Green's function and Laplace transformation. The associated transient thermal stresses are analyzed by using the thermoelastic potential and Neuber-Papkovich stress functions. Numerical calculations are carried out for the case of thermally insulated disks.
