This is a qualitative descriptive study utilizing the phenomenological approach. The result is summarized as follows.\nThe structure of learning of students was found. The students took in the phenomenon of childbirth while they were perplexed over the difference between the reality of their first childbirth care and how they imagined it. They understood the need to document the laboring mother's physical condition for the diagnosis of the childbirth progress. They conducted practices that promoted the childbirth progress, and put value in being close to the laboring mother. Their reflection on the delivery experience confirmed what they have learned and the challenged they still have to face.
