In our preliminary study on the state of HCB in the young athletes, we could extract 2 characteristic features, a relatively high rate in HCB practice, whereas a relatively low rate in consultation with experts and HCB practice with prudence. To yield a deeper insight into these findings factors affecting on HCB practice in 504 ski-athletes, who belong to the first and second-rank college teams registered at the Ski Association of Japan and consented to the enrollment as the subjects, by this cause-effect model. The results suggested that the motivation for HCB practice is influenced by knowledge about health and diseases, technical support, multiple health locus of control  and self-efficacy .
