Reliability and validity were established. Content validity was established through a rating of each item of the questionnaire under the self-control concept by 3 nursing experts. Preventive Health Behavior Scale was used in establishing construct validity. Subjects consisted of 109 outpatients with diabetes. It consists of factor structure of the 5 factors of 26 items. The reliability was 0.850. Scores of their self-control were positively correlated with those of their preventive health behavior.
