Materials used are “Kehi no Kagurauta （気比神楽歌）”，courtpoems used in Kyoto during the Heian period. These poems were originally performed in the festivals at Kehi Shrine （気比神社）, It is written in their lyrics that the Ama family （海部氏） of Tsuruga thrived on the Japan Sea traffic in early 7th century, and that some people from Kyushu landed at Tsuruga. Poems also contain place names in the vicinity of Tsuruga.
