Our investigation was conducted in New Zealand, where the natural conditions are similar to those of Japan and the conservation is progressing. The result is as follows: 1）New Zealand is in high latitude and the tourist industry is important because of comparatively monotonous industrial structure. Small, slow and silent sightseeing are performed in its nature. 2）There are beautiful natural landscapes such as volcanos, hot springs, glaciers, waterfalls, canyons, and lakes. These are utilized for sightseeing. 3）There are many wineries at a region without such landscapes. The wineries which have good institutions and the contents serve as an important element of sightseeing. 4）The viticulture and winery area expanding rapidly from 2006. It concerns the agriculture and sightseeing, and has brought about a big change of the whole industrial structure. 5）In small-scale farmlands, choosing suitable kinds of grapes for climate and greeting visitors with the wines are the bases, for eco-tourism, and with the local residents taking the lead, they lead to the sustainability of the area. 6）Compared with Australia, New Zealand has disadvantages in its scale, location, and history for development competition, and the plan for sustainability is required. 7）Maori’s view of the world “Kaitaki”, enjoyment of the nature and prosperity of life, is the foundation of the conservation and sustainability. 8）Especially, viticulture is concerned to the conservation and sustainability through agriculture and sightseeing.
