In junior high schools, classes are being taught using new textbooks from the 2021 school year. In this study, teachers who have experience teaching science at junior high schools compared the features of each textbook and summarized the process of inquiry that teachers consider while using the textbooks. The results revealed that the experiments and exploratory activities for inquiry varied with the textbooks, and that teachers were left largely to their own devices in conducting inquiry-based
